A: If you are in the 8th grade that would make you about 13 or 14....you should have the right to choose. You shouldn't need a reason. If you think your dad will take better care of you then you need to talk with him and make sure he can deal with you living with him. Even if your mom is a "beach" you still need to be up front with her and say hey I'd rather live with dad right now. But I will tell you one thing if you just want to live with your dad because your mom is trying to make you mind and grow up and be an adult running back and forth is NOT the thing to do. I hope whatever you choose makes you happy. I know where you are at. When I was your age I was passed back and forth between my parents and it was hard telling one that you didn't want to live with them any more. Good Luck. Bethany
