A: My family always got together on Christmas Eve and we would open our presents then, but Santa would come after we went to bed so we'd get up and find the things that He had brought, so it was like have two Christmases. At that time my whole family was still alive and there were a lot of us--my grandmother, her five children and all of their children. Usually about 30 people. Today we have maybe 10 or 12 and I find that incredibly sad. Mostly I miss my mother and grandmother, but my father and all except one of his siblings are dead and I miss having my aunt and uncles around for the holidays. Things sure have changed. We live all over the country now and getting together at Christmas is a real treat. I'll be leaving for home (Tennessee) Saturday.
