Thanksgiving Help?

Q: Ok, so my 7 year old niece saw me eating a spoonfull of whipped cream before we had pie at thanksgiving dinner. I made her pinky swear she wouldn't tell anyone, and not five minutes later I overheard her revealing my secret to her mother, my sister in law. Now, I'm not sure how kids feel about pinky-swears anymore, but when I was little, it was considered the equivalence of an unbreakable legally binding contract. The problem I'm having is remembering the protocol when someone breaks a pinky-swear, because we never broke them when I was little. I know you're either supposed to break the person's pinky, or cut it off, but I just can't recall which. I'd really like some help with this ASAP, everybody's starting to go home, and I'd like to enforce the consequences she's brought upon herself before she leaves. Thanks!

A: Her finger would have to be cut off, as the saying goes. I'm sure you wouldn't have your niece hide something terrible from her parents. You just want to learn the meaning of pinky swear. LoL. If it means so much to you to teach her, then http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pinky_swear
