What are your favorite thanksgiving traditions or memories?

Q: I love that holiday!!!

A: In our family, we have the traditional traditions, a big family gathering for a big turkey feast. Nothing unusual or different then the next family, but one particular Thanksgiving memory always comes to mind. It was during this time, my brother who might have been 19 or 20 at the time got into a serious accident. He recovered and healed just fine, and was home from the hospital sooner than expected; but he needed to have his jaw wired shut for several more weeks than his release date. With his jaw wired shut, the doctor suggested that my mother feeds him baby food and broths. This by all means, is all that he could eat. For his younger siblings, including myself, it was riot teasing him about him having to eat baby food, and over several days he had weeded out the flavors of baby food he didn't like i.e. spinach, squash, ham all those you can imagine that wouldn't taste good. It also was a little pleasing for my mother's maternal instinct to go back into the baby aisle to shop for her son, which she hasn't done for many many many years. With Thanksgiving coming around the corner, my mother thought it would be appropriate for my brother to have the foods that everybody else was eating and bought him several jars of baby food flavored Turkey Dinner. Thanksgiving day, with all family members, the turkey in the middle of the table and all the other dishes of food surrounding it, my father said grace. It was very important to all the family members to give thanks for having my brother with us, given he survived a serious accident, and then it was time to eat. My brother seated at the table not with a plate of food, but with several jars of baby food and spoon set out for him, took a nibble of the Turkey Dinner from the jar, and quickly spit it out. Disgusted he stood up from the table, grabbed the jars and left the table. With in a few minutes he returned with blender, a cup of water and a straw.
