Q: in my country we eat our turkey stewed in the oven and its DELICIOUS!! when i mention it to my friends here they cant picture a stewed turkey..(i am from el salvador) .. how do you like yours cooked? since there is no thanksgiving there we eat it for christmas and new years!!

A: My brother in law takes pieces of tree bark and soaks them really well, and separately, he soaks the turkey in brine (salt water) for two days. Then he puts both in his smoker and cooks the bird for 6-8 hours. It comes out with a smoky, salty taste, dark pink from all the smoke it absorbed. MMMMmmm. TX Mom
