What kind of traditions do you do for Thanksgiving and Christmas?

Q: Do you have a huge family get together for dinners? Do you plan on eating turkey, watching a game, or going outside to play some football? If you don't have any traditions, what would you like to do or have dreamed of doing for the Holidays? Do you open presents up at Midnight on Christmas Eve? Is there a special dinner you have planned for both of these Holidays? Any special treats you like to make for you and your family? Just wondering what everyone else is doing? WOW you all have such GREAT traditions! I love hearing about the traditions of other families. Gives me ideas on meals and traditions too! I asked this question beacause my husband and I have a three year old son, and we're out of state from our family. So most of our Holidays are spent traveling to their house taking turns. One family is in California, and the other is in New Mexico. We're in AZ. This year, we're staying home for the Holidays and everyone else has to come and visit! LOL I would really like to start our own tradition of Holiday dinners and activities. Thank you so much for the answers so far! They are truly wonderful. All of them!

A: Thanksgiving we(my husband, brother-in-law, and myself) start by eating a breakfast casserole. Around 11 the rest of the fam arrive to cheese/sausage dips, country ham dips, and sausage french rolls while football starts. The main meal is anytime from 1-3 where we have a turducken (duck stuffed with corn bread dressing inside turkey), sweet potato casserole, ham, green bean bacon roll-up, rolls, carrot cake, pecan pie, and cheesecake...(wow...looking at it written out is scary!) Christmas...Since my husbands mother past away a few years ago we always have my husbands brother for Christmas(he is great!). Christmas Eve we always drive around looking at Christmas lights then come home to watch a few Christmas movies (either national lampoons, or the Santa Claus). My husband and i do our presents together early in the am in our bedroom before anybody gets up...it reminds my of when i was younger and i jump out of bed as soon as i am up! Then when every ones up we eat a breakfast casserole and open family presents. Then its just relax, watch the few football games that are on, play with our gifts, watch a few Christmas movies that are on TV, and visit. Dinner is @1-3 with a ham cooked over night and all day so it melts off the bone, Christmas candy (caramel pecan balls, peanut butter/chocolate balls, 7 layer bars, peanut butter and chocolate fudge), pecan pies, homemade bread my dad makes, and SO much more...
