Q: something someone else can give you
A: I know I would want a bible if I forgot to take mine. Books and magazines are always nice and throws are nice too..I can't sleep in the open with strange people without a cover...Snacks would be nice...those wipes for the hands are good to have...wash clothes and toothbrushes with toothpaste...shampoo....hand lotion...aspirin....a comb with wide spaced teeth..your hair can get matted sleeping in a shelter and be hard to comb..Plastic bags are nice to have to keep your things together..and pillows,,there are never enough pillows..... I haven't been in a shelter but I live right smack dab where Katrina hit and these are the things those in the shelters needed.
