A: Hi Plato, yes a great one, but only one of many great ones by them. Dirty old town, the black velvet band, seven drunken nights, carrigfergus etc etc and one of my all time favourites played by Barney McKenna - the masons apron. He's my fathers cousin, my second cousin and we have had many fantastic nights with them when they have been in England touring especially one in the early 1970's when they were in the Festival club in Sheffield appearing with Tommy Cooper - we nearly died laughing - they ragged each other all night - poor Tommy daren't turn his back on them! They came to York once to the Theatre Royal and we took them out for a meal after to a chinese restaurant whos owners we were really friendly with. Stanley looked chinese but spoke with a really broad yorkshire accent - born and bred in York, whereas his wife Wendy was born in mainland china and spoke very little English. The conversation between Stanley, Wendy and our friends had to be heard to be believed - hilarious!Happy St. Patricks day when it comes!
