A: I've NEVER heard of the pinch thing! The biggest parade on St. Patricks day is in America, and the Taoiseach spends every Paddy's day in America so that should answer your question! There is a big parade in Dublin and smaller ones around the country. It's definately not as big as it used to be. Thesedays it's just an excuse to spend the day in the pub. Shame really.
