Orange on St. Patrick's Day?

Q: If somebody is wearing orange on St. Patrick's Day could they just be representing that they're from Norn Iron or is their always a political overtone to the orange.

A: It has always been a political and religious overtone. Green was Catholic and Orange was Protestant. I had friends who remembered growing up their father would literally search them head to toe to make sure that NOTHING that they were wearing had ANY green on it. This was not uncommon. Amazing how long those sorts of conflicts can go on. All because of Tudor politics!
