Q: I'm from Dublin, Ireland and i'm sick to the teeth of Americans always slated for one thing or another. They can't seem to do anything right in peoples eyes. Oh btw this is in response to a question i answered about "Why americans pretend they are Irish on St Patricks Day". I dunno, its bothering me bigtime at this stage. I'm marrying an American. When i say this to others they are always quick to answer with something like "Stupid Americans", "Americans are freaks". I get it daily in work now. Some snidy remark made so i can hear just because they now know i'm marrying him. On the whole I have found American people kind, helpful and friendly and i admire the confidence which people mistakinly see as arrogance.

A: Some people have really strange judgments/opinions & use this as a forum to vent. I'm 1st generation American, parents both from Argentina, one German Grandfather, one French Grandfather, one Spanish Grandmother, and one Irish Grandmother born in Liverpool. So, what should I be celebrating? Ha ha! Everything I guess. I have a great appreciation for different cultures and have always wanted to see Dublin by the way. I'm happy to say that every St. Patty's day, I make a boiled corned beef dinner too. But, I am definitely proud to be an American, so I shut a lot of those people out!
