What was the contribution of St. Patrick's Batallion during the Mexican War?

Q:

A: the irish batallion contributed whit the mexican by making an aliance whit the mexicans .when the irish came to american firts the history say that they were treated very unfairly by the americans . they were also promised a land which was given only to a few of them . then the war between mexico and usa started . the americans decided to abuse the irish even more by sending them to a war agains another nation which did nothing to them under the promise to be given lands. when the irish saw that the americans had lie to then, and that the mexicans shared their religion they desided to stop figthing the mexicans and started fighting whit the mexicans . mexico and ireland has been friends since then . this also is importan to catholics because it was the catholic religion the main reason for they to having help each other. even when many agree that there was a lot of unfairness in the catholic church then.
