Why Do People Who Arent Irish...?

Q: ...Celebrate St. Patrick's Day? Its offensive and angers me that ppl who arent Irish celebrate St. Patrick's Day. First off, St. Patty's Day isnt about going out and getting drunk. I hate it when girls where "kiss me, Im Irish!" shirts and what not, when they arent Irish and dont have an ounce of Irish in them. So, why do non-irish ppl celebrate it? Personally, I think they do it as another excuse to drink.

A: im 100% irish and i absolutly LOVE st. Patrick's day!! so i can also understand how you would feel about it but you know what, i think its better for people to be celebrating ireland EVEN if they have no connection AT ALL its better than constantly criticising it because lots of people do that!! i like the way people all over the world know about little old ireland it makes me feel really proud to be irish and we all know about how we have the repuatations, like drinking a lot and being friendly and all but i like that too!! i hope this helps and aslong as people celebrate it in any way, im happy enough because its recognising our history and heritage and how many countrys can say that!! lol good question, good luck and i hope this helped you =)
