So if I don't pray, I'm a kafira? ?

Q: Earlier I asked if my fasting counts if I don't pray...and people so "No." And that praying separates the "believers" from the "Nonbelievers." So, if I'm not praying...I'm not a Muslim. I don't understand this...I feel like I AM a Muslim. I do everything according to Islam except pray.

A: Sweety, I'm the one who said that prayer seperates the believers from the non-believers, and I based it on a hadith in which the Prophet Mohammad, peace be upon him, said so, in these exact words. You can feel like you are a Muslim, but you should know that prayer is one of the five pillars of Islam... This is why I would advise you to please start praying. I know that nobody is perfect and that everybody has their flaws. But you can't miss this one, because if you do, it simply negates every other good deed that you do. Prayer is one of the fundamental basis of Islam... Total submission to Allah. You should worship Him and thank Him for everything He's given you. Don't make Him give you everything, and then you give nothing in return. Wouldn't that be ungrateful? And habibti, we're not saying you're a "kafira". We're not here to judge. Only God knows if you're a true believer or not. However, the Prophet Mohammad, peace be upon him, placed a lot of importance on prayer, and so should you... Because unfortunately, it isn't something you can compensate by doing something else.
