what do u think the main reason we fast in ramadan is?

Q: well , i thought some ppl here mentioned the reason is to feel how the poor and hungry ppl feel.. but this is just wrong , cuz if that was the main reason , allah wouldnt have ordered the poor to fast as well as the rich.. the reason we fast ppl is to have more (taqwa).. is to feel that we r somehow closer to allah .. and to learn how to control our sins and our anger.. is to comunicate more with each other and try to share what we have with others.. yes it might be a reason for the rich to feel how the poor feel.. but not the main.. so what do u think ? what's ur ideas about why we fast in ramadan? thax in advance & ramadan mobarak.. always love and peace brought by islam.. @pali musim:- sis , i know that it's fard on us to do so , and we have no right to choose.. but what i meant is different , i mean why do u think allah ordered us to fast in ramadan.. what's the point? that's it.. thx anyway..

A: The main reason we fast during the month of Ramadan is because it has been given to us as a requirement and we are, by the nature of the name we carry as a group, obedient to our Lord and Master. The reason He asked us to fast is because we have to realize that we are not only physical entities, seeking the comfort zone all our lives, but that we have another nature, more powerful and predominant than the part represented by the physical body, and that nature is spiritual, and this is what really counts, and one of the foremost benefits of fasting is that it causes us to detox and to clear the mind (spirit) of any kind of clutter, which is doubly facilitated for us since the gates of Heaven are opened during Ramadan and those of Hell shut.
