Q: While arguing with a Shia here on Y&A, he said that Shias do all types of acts of Worships to their Imams in their love and respect. Those acts are: 1. Pray to dead Imams. 2. Name babies after Imams such as Abdul Ali, Abdul Husain, Ghulam Ali, Ghulam Husain etc. 3. Cook foods to seek pleasure and blessings of dead Imams. 4. Fasting in the names of Imams. Example: Fast of 15th Shabaan. 5. Bowing down to graves of Imams. They say that they do all these acts in love and respect of their Imams.....! Can we worship someone besides Allah in his/her love and respect? @ pepper_girl9: LOL @ Grave worshipers. @ Shia Mohammad: I am not backbiting, I have posted the concepts and practices of Shias. A: Peace.. Those people that worship there parents, or pray to saints or bow down to graves of imams are people who are commiting shirk and are showing that they bow down to others, not just allah. It is absolutely forbidden in Islam to to pray to dead imams, as they cannot help u and nor are they ur protecter. Allah is ur protector!and allah is ur lord, the one who has created u. U can name ur children after anyone u want.. Cooking food for imams that cannot eat it is absolutely stupid and is a action which use to be done at the time of jahaliya(age of ignorence) They use to give food to the idols and dead people.. They worship these people as u already can tell from what u have written... The only people you should fast for is Allah, and the reward u will get for fasting will be ur intention and who u are fasting for, as u noe there is no hadith where the prophet fasted for his uncle. or where the ummah fasted for the prophet. Now this is another type of shirk.. Bowing infront of people shows an act of disobedience to Allah, it shows u worship some1 else... They may say it is love and respect, however this is an act of worship. Muslims can absolutely NOT worsship any1 besides Allah in his/her respect as this is haraam and forbidden and the only thing allah will not tolerate.. Allah will forgive any other sin but he will never forgive the sin where u worship someone besides him.. Hope u understand. May God also forgive that Shia as he is commiting shirk... Peace
