Question to Muslims?

Q: What does Islam give me that I already do not have? I think I have a decent life (job, family and etc). So how does Islam improve my life? Feretsha. I do not believe in God. So how does that apply? Rodi-Who created God? Happy- Let me clarify for you then. If I was to become a Muslim how would it improve my life? Amallay- I was.

A: The reason most people here are giving you those common answers like they always do is for one simple reason: they can't think outside the box. They do not disconnect themselves from their current belief to even imagine living without God. Their explanations will not make sense to you as it does in their minds, they are thinking in their state of belief, not yours. Whether you ask about what will be improved in your life by becoming a Muslim, Christian, or Jewish, an answer won't be sufficient from any of them. You have learned that there is no need for a religion and that you can have everything we have, without the existence of God. Why choose religion when there is science? Shariah laws when there is our conscious? Submission when there is freedom? I doubt any of our answers will satisfy you. Even when I switch myself to Atheist mode, I can't give myself an answer, and I see where you are coming from. But a decent life isn't what it's all about for us. We are taught that this world isn't home and that this dunya (life/world) is a prison and our true eternal home is in the afterlife. We are for God and to him we will return. None of us will know the truth except to what we see as truth. Each of us, Muslim, Jewish, Christian, Atheist, have our idea of what we think the truth is, or in your case, what you think is reality. I never really got an answer as to whether God exists or not, but I still believe in Him. You can call it brainwash if you like, but I've had my own spiritual journey from Islam, and every time I got off to being an Atheist (at times), I only found myself going back to God. Every time I searched for another religion, I found Islam to be what I feel is home, in this life. I like to think of it this way: If I disregard the existence of God and don't submit to him, die, and He really doesn't exist, then sweet, I've lived my life doing what I want and I've lived it to the fullest. If I, however, was wrong, and God really existed, then I'm screwed. I may take chances when deciding what my major is, what class to take, if a job is the right one for me, but I can always change them later if something goes wrong. Life isn't something I should be taking chances with, I'll stay on the safe side. Now, that only brings me to more questions. If God exists, and I do die, how do I know my faith is the right one? Well hey, I've done my share of studying religion and so far, no one has brought me clear evidence or proof that Islam is wrong. Adnan, think of it this way. You might want to take the chance anyways and deny His existence, but, what is there that you will lose if you do become a Muslim? If you do believe in God? You'll still have your family, your job, and a decent life. Sure, you won't be able to hang around with women, drink, smoke, club all night long, eat pork, work with interest, etc. But those are things both you and I can live without. I'm not here to impose my beliefs on you, but when you feel something this good, something that gives you peace of mind, calmness, happiness, you want to share it with the world. Whether you like it or not, there is no such thing as complete freedom. There is no such thing as no submission. The great scholars of Islam used to explain that by not submitting to the will of God, by not being his slave, you are a slave and submit to something else. Whether it is society, money, etc. But I refuse to become a slave to anything but what I see is worthy, a higher entity and a higher being: God. I refuse to take chances and gamble with the afterlife, and I refuse to live a life full of doubt and uncertainty. I think I've said quiet enough, but I'm not sure if any of this is making sense. In the end, it is up to you to decide what is best for yourself. Just know that by becoming a Muslim, you aren't really missing out on anything that's good for you. I'll leave you with that, hope some of it will convince you.
