Q: what are some tips to help me curve my thirst and hunger?

A: The first thing you should know is why you are fasting. As far as I know, fasting is mainly for two reasons. To make you realise what starving people feel, and for patience. To teach us how to be patient. If a person spends all his fast sleeping so he doesn't have to feel his hunger, there's really no point in fasting (I mean, not really, but yeah). the first few days are really hard. But then it gets easier. And soon, you wouldn't even mind. The main thing you've got to keep in mind is your purpose of fasting, and that Allah makes it a lot easier for us. Really, I'm not just saying that. My mum used to say it to me, but I really didn't believe it. But it actually worked. Hope you find it easy, I know how you feel. :) Dina
