Q: 1.Do you think get the message of islam across well? *dawah= Sharing the message of islam I personally love it when they hold lectures, talks about islam for muslims and non-muslims. I also found this a very good way of promoting islam as a peaceful way of life and that is criticising with suttleness and sarcasm the way muslims are portrayed when in real we are not all fanatics and extremists. 2. Do you play a role in giving dawah to others? The most i've done is probably encouraging others to come to the islamic activites and lectures/talks..given out leaflets amongst sisters and also i've talked to a few non-muslims as well as muslims about islam and corrected their misconceptions about islam. I'm sure most of you have heard about them "Allah made me funny" and the group of comedians are situated in america. So yeah, heres the videos and also i can relate a lot to this...some of the issues we as muslims face in our day to day life. I find this a really good way to spread the message of islam, and also tell people that "Muslims" aren't some sort of ETI!!!...although i must say sum of us are very intelligent. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sQ3owg0jcxo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HeHPij0JZIA&feature=related i hope these two links work, part 1 and 2 of the show. This is a must watch though so you can u tube "Allah made me funny". I know baba Ali as well, do u guys know any other muslim commedians? if yes, please let me know!! @Peace09 yeah he is muslim and so is his brother William Chapelle.

A: Aslaamulikum. I've had very benefical dawah given to me by Muslims when learning about Islam, may Allah swt reward the individuals and families that helped me. However, I also get a lot of what appears to be hostility or maybe just unconcealed intrigue from born Muslims who stare and struggle to return salaams but anyway that is another arguement. I think the best way to give dawah is through everyday actions and islamic behaviour and also through, as you said, dispelling myths. I also share good books with colleagues such as "From my sisters lips" which was, overall, a good insight into islam imho. Our local mosque has a fun day on Saturday so I'll be going to that inshallah. The message I'd probably want to get across to born Muslims, or all Muslims really, is that you never really know what Allah swt has planned for people so although sometimes we may dislike or disapprove islamically of a person's actions (love for the sake of Allah swt hate for the sake of Allah swt) you never know who Allah swt is going to guide to Islam in the future so we need to always be mindful of our behaviour and not condemn people - we need to guide and help. Seriously if you'd have seen me ten years ago nobody in a millions years would think I'd embrace the Deen, but if it wasn't for the openness and non-judgemental approach of the people given me dawah I'd still be on the express to hellfire - may Allah swt accept my efforts and those of all the Muslims giving dawah to people like me.
