Q: Hi, Does the quran encourage both men and women to not have sex before marriage? All the muslim men i know personally are not virgin and not married. Same with my family, my brother is not a virgin, my parents know and allow it because "he is a man" but my sister and I MUST remain virgin. Help me understand please and tell me abit about your circle of muslim male friends. Thanks Even if my parents told me to have sex, i wouldnt. To me sex is not the issue, I am just really really intolerant when it comes to sexism. I dnt care that my parents allow him, my point is dnt allow him JUST BECAUSE he is a boy. And im not dumb either :-) if i am a virgin or not is all for my well being. I value myself and choose this path myself because as u can see my parents dnt even know the first letter of the Islam. Thanks for all the replies. Happy Ramadan.

A: Nasser said it all... thanks buddy.. and about my circle of muslims most of them follow the teachings of Islam very well alhamdolellah. and those of them who sin, didn't reach that far, bad, dangerous, huge level of sins (i.e adultery). hold on to your islamic principles and never let go. ask Allah to help you not to abandon the principles of Islam.. try urself to tell your family members IN A VERY NICE AND POLITE WAY that they act against the teachings of Islam and ask Allah to guide them and forgive them. Try real hard to find well muslim friends (girls of course) because it's hard for someone to go alone against all the people around him as he will get weak in time and surrender to his surroundings, but with friends you'll help each other and stick together to keep on the right path. Remember that Allah ordered us to be good and polite to our parents no matter what, so whatever your folks' attitude even if it was against Islam you should always be good to them even if they turned bad to you. may Allah be always with you.. and Ramadan kareem =)
