Q: is it ok to use orajel when fasting? i have a really bad mouth ulcer and tooth pain (back molar) i know i cant take pain killers while fasting but can i apply the gel it help numb the pain? also is it permissible to brush your teeth while fasting?
A: its ok to use orajel.. all it is , is a deadening agent to use topically on the gums and teeth.. you are not swallowing it.. .. its no different from using tooth paste.. just brush your teeth, rinse well, dont swallow the paste, and then use the gel.... Hope your ulcer heals soon!.. May Allah bless you! ^_^ hint:.. after magrib (breakfast time).. eat plenty of live active culture yogurt.. cause the good bacteria in it, helps control ulcers... (my doc recommends this to me, I suffer from gum ulcers occationally also)
