instead of fasting in Ramadan, so you know how those who have nothing 'feel'...?

Q: would it not be more useful to give money to charity. fasting doesn't help anyone does it.anyway, so much is eaten after dusk it seems pointless to me,

A: There is nothing preventing you from giving money during Ramadan or any other time of year. Fasting is for you. The benefits of fasting is not simply to experience hunger, but to make you more aware of all your actions, your words, thoughts etc. Donating money will definitely benefit others and Muslims are encouraged to help those who are less fortunate than them.
