Q: I bought some of the Kosher Coke today, because it was on sale at the supermarket. The bottle looks exactly the same, except it has a teeny-tiny seal that says "Kosher for Passover" on the label. It tastes very strange. What's the difference between the two? Is it lacking some ingredient, or made in a different way?

A: I thought your question was interesting, so I looked up some information on google. I got this article: http://www.nypost.com/seven/03192007/news/regionalnews/kosher__coke_a_big_hit_regionalnews_rita_delfiner.htm which stated in it that regular coke uses high fructose corn syrup for the sweetener, but that Kosher ones have real sugar as their sweetener. That would certainly account for a different taste. It did mention that Coke used to have sugar used until they changed to the corn syrup, etc.. but.. that would show a difference for today. (There may have been other things that were different, but that jumped out at me).
