Is the roasted egg (betzah) for Passover peeled or unpeeled on the seder plate?

Q:

A: Despite the answers you have received above, there is no rule either way. The tradition is for "an egg," but there is no requirement to peel it, and no prohibition against it. I think most familes bring it to the seder table unpeeled, however, because the egg is roasted in the shell, and the shell retains the browning that shows the roasting. After the seder, if you want to peel it to eat or for any other reason, that's perfectly okay as well. Good luck!!
