Q: Passover might almost be over, but I was curious. I recall there is some rule behind different corn syrups... which is why there are different candies for passover. Does anyknow the rules? Correction: Does anyone know* the rules? Thanks Jessica, I was looking for someone to mention Corn Syrup I thought I was crazy for thinking that it was off limits.

A: well there is a differnce between the askanazi(european) and sephardic( those of spanish decent) jews, the askanazi will eat no type or grain or anything that is made with a grain like corn syrup or even a rice cake. sephardics do eat rice and some rice products. the rule is anything that has the ability to rise during baking is not allowed.
