Q: I say this because there are a lot of foreigners who choose to move here (UK) then have the cheek to say they find christmas offensive! (I'll be honest - it's mainly Muslims) We wouldn't go to Muslim countries and tell them we find their traditions offensive (even though alot of their traditions are barbaric) Many of our primary schools are no longer doing nativity plays just incase someone takes offense and they are also going to refer to christmas as 'winterville' how ridiculous. I'm not even religious but I just celebratete christmas for the commercial side of things! I love drinking with friends, eating loads of food, spending time with family and watching loads of christmas films. Its tradition in our country and i'm fed up with being made to feel that we aren't aloud to be british as if its racist somehow? The Muslims can stay offended as far as i'm concerned! What are your thoughts on this? (and yes i'm aware not every single Muslim feels that way but a lot of them do) 'Michael P' & 'Phantasm' you have given such brilliant answers. thankyou. Yes I agree with some of you who mentioned that it has alot to do with the PC brigade - in some ways they are worse. I can't stand pollitical correctness!
A: Yes well I totally agree - As far as I am concerned they are just biting the hand that feeds them - you wouldn't go to a friends house for dinner and then say - "I'm sorry but you are going to have to redecorate next time I come over as I find your taste in wallpaper very offensive - plus next time cook something else because I don't like your food - but I'll still take the free food anyway" Whinging ungrateful bastards as far as I am concerned - how dare immigrants come to our country, live off our handouts and then decide to segregate themselves from our society because it offends them. Our government bend over backwards to accommodate different nationalities/faiths etc and all they get in return is accusations of racism??? The government will then apologize profusely and bend over and take another a.s.s raping as they always do - After all we can't offend anyone even if it does mean taking away/banning everything that is traditionally British - we are made to feel ashamed to be British nowadays. It makes me sick. There are hundreds of mosques in this country but you wont catch muslim countries building churches etc in their countries would you? Hitler wanted to invade europe and make us one race so we went to war to put a stop to it - back then I guess people had more back bone and stood up for what's right - Now it seems that hitler is getting what he wanted after all except it's happening under our noses and no one seems to be taking a blind bit of notice to it. And all the bed wetting pc brigade wimps are brainwashed into believing that this is a good thing. The thing most people are terrified of nowadays is being branded a racist or offending somebody's religion - so because of this we now live in a world where we have to think twice about getting onto a bus or train in fear of getting blown up in the name of religion - but that doesn't matter does it? as long as we don't offend anyone right? - after all that's what's really important isn't it? This country lets people from other countries who are living off our welfare system preach in the streets and promote violence against us - how ungrateful can you get? I'm not religious either - I think it's the route of all evil and represents everything that's wrong with this world. like you I celebrate Christmas because it's a time where you get to relax with a break from work and lots of food and spending time with families and friends. Christmas will be a thing of the past soon.
