Are you doing anything special for Lammas?

Q:

A: As this will be the first Sabbat I'm going to be celebrating, I'm not doing as much as I'm sure others will be - (easing myself into it rather than jumping in at the deep end!). For our 'feast' I'm planning on baking a loaf of bread, having some corn on the cob, possibly some mead or local ale and baking some berry muffins too - foodstuffs related to the harvest, basically! Lammas (or Lughnasadh) is a time to celebrate growth and for reaping the rewards for your efforts from earlier in the year when we put plans into action and put a stop to bad habits - looking back, and giving thanks to what we have so far received. Considering that Lammas coincides with the New Moon (as well as a solar eclipse!) I'll be hoping to incorporate the two together into a ritual, and possibly some appropriate spellworking. Goddess willing, it'll be a nice day so I'll be able to enjoy the afternoon outside! I've seen that other people have felt it appropriate to do something for others too on Lammas - whether it's by making donations to a charitable organisation or homeless shelter, or even by giving blood. May your day be happy one - whatever you do! :) x
