How long last paid holidays in America?

Q: Excuse my english

A: It completly depends on the employer. People just starting at a job will get one week, people who have been there for a few years will get two weeks, and people who have been there over ten years will get three or four weeks off a year. There is no law--it is part of the agreement between the employer and the employee. Many people get no vacation. In America, holiday usually doesn't mean vacation (you are using the word correctly if you are in England)--it is a special day (such as Christmas, Thanksgiving, and Independence Day)in which most of the country has the day off. There are six to twelve of those a year, and again, how many of these a person gets varies--you get as many as the company you work for gives you.
