A: Depends on the type of party and the birthday girl and her friends. If it is a dance and your friends like hip hop then hip hop songs, or if you like top 40 then top 40 songs. If you are spanish you would pick latin singers in the type of music you like. If you have a theme like luau or hollywood you would play some of that type of music intermixed. We had a DJ at a dance for a Hollywood theme. We played Golden Age Hollywood songs for the first 1/2 hour as guests arrived and then a few old hollywood slow songs but the rest we had all good dance songs like cocanut juice by tyga, sexy can I by Ray J and some top 40 songs like Mariah Carey. Cuz people dance to the good dance songs and then then get tired and talk to friends and munch on finger foods while they catch their breaths and then dance again. You could load up a MP3 player with songs too that you can hook up to a speaker system. Some people have their friends bands play like from high school or if you can afford it hire a real artist like Chris Brown.
