A: The Federal Holiday is 4 July and most companies only give one day for Independence Day. Since it was on a Friday we got the actual 4th of July. Next year, 7/4/2009, is on a Saturday so most coporate offices will get the Friday as a paid holiday. For M-F workers, the paid holidays are during the week and you get the nearest week day off. For people who work the weekends, they usually get the actual day off (including Sat or Sun).
