A: definitely do it the weekend after the 4th to avoid scheduling conflicts... here are some themes i thought up: luau/hawaiian super hero (rent superhero movies or go see one in costume) a christmas in july party! (i did this one once... we had hot coco, blasted christmas music, watched rudolph the red nosed reindeer and made stockings!!) campout in her backyard and make smores good luck! ;0)
