Q: i have been sitting here for a hour and a half trying to learn hebrew but i know nothing do you think by december 6th my bat mitzvah i can learn it all? and did anyone else have troubles learnging it what did you do?
A: An hour and a half is hardly anything. I go to hebrew/sunday school for that long about twice a week. Maybe ask your parents for a tutor, because a bat mitzvah is pretty hard to learn to read a language for. You don't need to understand what it means, exactly, but you should know how to read it. There is probably no way you can read english for it, unless it's a speech you wrote. The Torah has no hebrew vowels, so you'll need a tutor to copy a sheet for you with hebrew vowels so you'll know what you should learn. Why do you want a bat mitzvah? You clearly have been in no training or lessons. Is it for the glamour? Or what? If your parents made you, you should at least make them get a tutor for you. You may need to extend the date, it took about 5 months for my sister to get everything planned.
