Q: I bought 20 yards of tulle, but I have NO clue how to attach this to the shirt. (A shirt that I'll never wear again, so I can ruin it). The craft store lady said hot glue would melt the fabric. So I'm calling all crafty people for help to make this costume! Should I sew it? Bobby pins? Any other items? Here is a link to a picture of the costume. http://candidcostume.com/default.aspx?ci=2561
A: Safety pins! fold up the tulle, scrunch it, what have you. Just be creative with it. When you find a way to do it, pin it as you go. Starting at the top may be the best way to go, pinning the tulle under at the top. You may want to use pliers or something to clamp the safety pins closed, because it'd be quite painful if one came undone... and then trying to find the right one among tons and tons of tulle? Ha, that'd be like trying to find a needle in a haystack. Hot glue would melt the tulle, and sewing tulle is the most frustrating process. Trust me, avoid it if you can!
