WHAT IS THE HOLIDAY Dasara ???

Q:

A: Dasara or Dussehra is an Indian festival celebrated as Navaratri/Vijaya-Dashami, in worship of Goddess Durga. It is also celebrated as Lord Rama's victory over Rawana. The celebrations vary from a day to nine days (for Navaratri) to a month (for Mysore Dasara). Each day has a relevance and nine forms of the diety are worshipped with a lot of devotion. People wake up early in the morning and take a nice shower and start the puja(worship). They also make lots of food and offer to the God, wear new clothes and families gather at the evenings and sing songs in praise of the Goddess Durga. The Goddess blesses anyone who performs all the rituals sincerely.
