In a restaurant what is better; real or fake?

Q: Would you prefer to see a real or a fake tree when dining in a restaurant for its Christmas decorations? Just trying to decide which will be best. Some very valid points. I suppose it may have to be fake, as I want it in the window area so that it can be seen from the other side of the river. I live in the sunniest part of NZ, so all day it will be getting full sunlight. Some great points about the needles and insects brought up though.

A: Depends what kind of restaurant. If it's a family restaurant, then fake. With kids all over the place, you don't want any of them getting a hold of fallen pine needles. If it's an adult only type thing, I guess as long as there's no way the needles can get into food, I don't see why a real one shouldn't be used. I guess also it depends on the fact that someone will have to sweep up the needles, god only knows how many times :P I think yoo can get fake ones that look more realistic now anyway, or was that in a movie?? O_O Anyway... I think it defo depends on the style of the restaurant ^^ Edit: Like the other 2 already said, the smell would also be something to consider when thinking about getting a real one.
