Q: Why do so many people prefer to use fake trees insteade of real ones?

A: Fake trees are not better for the environment. Eventually when they start to look ratty, you'll throw it away for a new one and all that plastic will slowly break down and seep into the ground, releasing harmful chemicals into the environment. As for why people prefer to use fake trees, I imagine it's because they last longer if properly stored, they cost less than buying 10-15 trees over the years, they don't shed as much, plus you can put it up anytime you want, rather than wait for tree farmers to start selling them. I have a couple of fake trees and the main reason why I like them so much is because I can put them up as early as November without worrying that they'll shed all over the house.
