Q: I gave some friends of the family a box of candy as I know they love See's candy. The only thing was that it was not filled with See's candy. As I tried to keep costs low for Christmas I used an old See's box that I had saved and filled it with chocolates from the dollar store. They have not spoken since Christmas do you think they noticed this and are possibly mad as a result of this?

A: I'm sure they noticed. Whether they are "mad" over a present is not clear. I think a friend would understand if you have financial limitatons, but I wouldn't try to fool people. There are ways to present a small token of your friendship, even a homemade card, in an appealing way, but using an old candy box is not the best method.
