Q: I took mine down on Jan 5, but I've seen people around town not only haven't taken them down, but still turn the lights on every night! Even their plastic Santa! OK that's just one house, but I'd say at least 20 homes in my town of about 30,000 people still have their lights on! Is there something I missing? Or are some people really, really into the Christmas spirit this year? I've kept mine up year round in the past too, for that same reason. But I've never had them on this late. Just seems odd that's all.
A: Ok, I'm gonna admit it. I pulled in to the driveway tonight, and did finally think to myself: "ya know, we should shut the timer off that turns our lights on". BUT ... its only simple white lights on our shrubs and really helps me see my through the darkness into my house! Some hotels and buildings have white lights up all year long. But , sadly I guess I need to shut them off. I think people just like the way it looks. We have had a foot of snow cover since early december, and the white lights on the bushes just look so beautiful, that its hard to extinguish them. Depressing. But OK, I'll shut em down.
