Q: i sent a 30 by 30 box to guatemala in it i sent my kids used clothes and some toys and my sister distributed them amongst the poor families in my families area, and it seemed people were very happy specially kids who got at least a used t-shirt for x-mas some got a pair of cheap soccer shoes others a toy some even got a macdonals toy and felt blessed. i only wish i could do it every x-mas but i am a stay hhm mom. if you can do all you can to donate a toy for x-mas and the feeling is really great to know you made a kid happy. anywhere in the world.
A: You know, there is NO REASON you CAN NOT do this every Christmas .. for children grow quickly, their used clothes pile up .. and by putting a box near the laundry area for those clothes or toys that they have outgrown ... I can assure you that the BOX will be FILLED Quite quickly -- and ... no matter what ... you don't even have to ship it far ... For right here, in the US .. there are plenty of Battered Women's Shelters who could USE what your children have outgrown .. there are so MANY, MANY Charities who would LOVE to receive your donations (like the Salvation Army, Waterfront Rescue Mission, etc) ... and so many groups that actively go out to some of the more disadvantaged communities, find the need, and yes, distribute what your children can no longer fit into (but others will cherish indeed).
